Work Environment

Your work setting will be primarily onsite at our surgical center, where you will collaborate with an array of healthcare professionals, including surgeons, nurses, and support staff. Our practice emphasizes a supportive culture where continuous learning and professional development are encouraged. You will work Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, allowing for a balanced work-life commitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Function as an independent healthcare provider under the guidance of supervising surgeons, delivering comprehensive care across various clinical settings.
• Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments; diagnose patient conditions and formulate tailored treatment plans to meet both short and long-term health goals.
• Assist in surgical procedures within the operating room, including minor procedures and first assisting during laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
• Manage daily rounds, document patient care, write orders, and facilitate admissions and discharges, ensuring continuous care and effective transition between settings.
• Educate patients and their families about preoperative preparations, postoperative care, medications, and rehabilitation protocols.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care solutions, performing consultations in emergency departments and critical care units as required.
• Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times, demonstrating discretion in sensitive situations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role involves care for a diverse range of patients of all ages undergoing surgical interventions. You will engage with pre-operative and post-operative patients and provide care tailored to individual health challenges, including post-surgical recovery and management of chronic conditions. Your contributions in this role will significantly impact patient satisfaction and recovery outcomes, aligning with our organizational goal of improving health quality in our community.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Current board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• State Licensed Physician Assistant with an active DEA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Ability to obtain Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification within the first 12 months of employment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two (2) years of advanced practice experience in surgical or hospital medicine, with proven ability in operating room assistance (laparoscopic and robotic experience is a plus).
• Prior experience in a surgical setting with familiarity in handling surgical instruments and assisting in procedures would be highly beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 130,000 to 170,000, commensurate with experience, plus a performance-based bonus structure.
