Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Newark. You will be working 40 hours a week, from Monday to Friday, concluding at 5:00 PM. This fixed schedule allows for consistent patient interaction and collaboration with medical colleagues. Our facility is equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies to better serve our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including detailed medical history assessments and physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging, providing timely and accurate insights into patient health.
• Diagnose acute and chronic conditions, developing appropriate treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
• Prescribe medications and therapies, ensuring careful oversight of patient medication regimens.
• Maintain meticulous medical records, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, preventive measures, and prescribed treatments to enhance their understanding and encourage active participation in their care.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive management of patients’ health, contributing to a holistic care experience.
• Engage in ongoing learning and development through research, workshops, and professional discourse to advance clinical expertise.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse outpatient population dealing with various pain management issues. These may include chronic pain conditions like arthritis, lower back pain, and neurological disorders, as well as acute pain from injuries. Your ability to empathize and effectively communicate with patients will be crucial in building trust and rapport, fostering a healing environment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is preferred.
• A valid New Jersey State Physician Assistant license and PA-C certification are mandatory.
• Current DEA number is required to prescribe medications.
• Proven experience in primary care, urgent care, internal medicine, or emergency departments.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on interpersonal interactions and patient education.
• Integrity and ethical conduct are essential in all aspects of patient care.
• Must demonstrate patience, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative team spirit.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
