Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and provide direct counseling services to clients, specifically focusing on Black birthing families.
\n
• Collaborate with the prenatal care team—comprised of medical providers, midwives, doulas, and lactation consultants—to integrate mental health support into holistic care plans.
\n
• Co-facilitate childbirth education and postpartum support groups, promoting shared learning and community engagement among participants.
\n
• Engage in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical consultations to enhance professional development and ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
\n
• Continually complete required clinical documentation adhering to established guidelines while minimizing administrative burdens.
\n
• Participate in outreach activities aimed at building community connections and spreading awareness of mental health resources.
\n
• Perform other duties as required to support the program and client needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on serving Black birthing families, who face unique challenges and systemic barriers in accessing mental health care. The counselor will be instrumental in addressing these disparities through culturally sensitive interventions and programs that foster resilience and wellness within this community.

Qualifications\n

• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California.

• A master’s degree in behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited institution.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and collaborate effectively with a diverse team and clientele.

• Capacity to work autonomously and proactively, seeking assistance when necessary to ensure client needs are met.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in community health or similar settings, particularly working with maternal and child health populations.

• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and digital health records systems.

Compensation and Benefits\n
