Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist at our Rehabilitation Center in Cape Coral, you will work onsite, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. You will typically work 40 hours per week, with a schedule that may include variable weekends based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

In your role, you will be tasked with the following key responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine functional limitations and devise appropriate treatment plans.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate individualized treatment programs designed to enhance patient mobility and quality of life.
• Effectively communicate with patients regarding their conditions, treatment objectives, and progress.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure a seamless continuum of care, providing consultations as needed.
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with all professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and mentor support staff, including Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and students, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Participate in leadership functions through community outreach and the development of departmental initiatives.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and partake in continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus on a diverse patient population, primarily consisting of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, those dealing with chronic pain, and patients with sports-related injuries. You will develop strong therapeutic relationships with each patient, fostering a supportive environment that encourages progress and resilience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid state license to practice Physical Therapy in Florida.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex medical concepts to patients and their families.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems and word processing software.

Preferred Experience

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a physical therapy setting, particularly those with exposure to orthopedic rehabilitation. Experience in leading patient education sessions and developing treatment plans that address patient-specific goals is highly desirable.
