Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments for new patients, thoughtfully evaluating their trauma history to devise effective treatment strategies.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that center on trauma recovery, employing evidence-based methodologies tailored to the unique needs of each client.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to promote healing.

• Engage in crisis intervention as necessary, providing timely and supportive responses to trauma-related emergencies.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care and ensure holistic support for each patient.

• Educate clients and their families on trauma, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to empower them in their healing journeys.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.

• Participate in ongoing professional development activities and case consultations to enhance your skills and knowledge in trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will primarily work with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma. Our client population includes adults who are dealing with PTSD, childhood trauma, complex trauma responses, and dissociative disorders. A strong understanding of these conditions and a compassionate approach to therapy are crucial for success in this role.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience working in a clinical setting, particularly with trauma-focused therapies.

• Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed modalities and an understanding of resilience-building techniques.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to empathize with clients and maintain sensitivity in high-stress situations.

• Experience working with electronic health records and familiarity with relevant digital tools.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The San Antonio Counseling Center offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000.
