Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform detailed, diagnostic assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and substance use issues, accurately identifying co-occurring disorders.

• Work collaboratively with clients to create individualized treatment plans that are responsive to their unique needs, incorporating a variety of evidence-based interventions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to equip clients with essential coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and emotional regulation techniques.

• Engage in ongoing monitoring of clients’ substance use progress and employ motivational interviewing techniques to encourage adherence to treatment protocols.

• Coordinate care efforts with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and holistic treatment pathways for each client.

• Educate clients and their families about the relationships between mental health and substance use disorders and the critical importance of treatment compliance.

• Maintain meticulous documentation of client treatment plans, interventions, and progress notes in alignment with ethical and legal standards of practice.

• Actively participate in case conferences, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance skills in treating co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals who are experiencing co-occurring disorders, characterized by the intersection of mental health challenges and substance use issues. This patient population often requires sensitive and adaptive care that addresses the complexities of their conditions. By employing therapeutic techniques that promote recovery and well-being, you will help clients navigate their paths toward sustainable recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.

• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies specific to co-occurring disorders, particularly Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A thorough understanding of the interplay between mental health disorders and substance use, with a demonstrated ability to address both in treatment.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate effective collaboration in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing therapy in an outpatient setting, preferably with a focus on co-occurring disorders.

• Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems to maintain client documentation efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits\n
