Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Physical Therapist, you will be entrusted with various responsibilities aimed at improving client outcomes and maximizing their functional capabilities. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Designing and directing individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function based on client evaluations and physician recommendations.
• Overseeing the efforts of physical therapy assistants to ensure the effective implementation of care plans, ensuring all treatments align with the patients' goals.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities through diagnostic tests of muscles, nerves, and joints to determine planning and treatment modifications.
• Assessing home environments to recommend modifications that promote greater independence and safety for clients.
• Administering therapeutic exercises, motivating clients, and instructing them on non-manual rehabilitation activities.
• Utilizing modalities such as traction and massage, and applying physical agents in treatment protocols.
• Fitting and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices based on evaluations, and making recommendations for modifications to the prescribing physician.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring all documentation meets both company and regulatory standards.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to engage in case conferences that refine and evaluate total treatment strategies, thereby enhancing overall care efficiency.
• Providing family education regarding physical therapy devices and overall treatment plans to empower families and clients in the rehabilitation process.
• Ensuring compliance with all clinical and payroll documentation timelines.
• Completing on-site assessments and revisions of care plans based on ongoing observations and the utilization of available community resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our physical therapist will work with a diverse patient population, primarily elderly clients with varying health needs, including post-operative rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and mobility recovery. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in physical therapy, preferably in home health or an acute care setting.
• Current licensure to practice as a physical therapist in Virginia, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations.
• Active CPR certification to ensure readiness in any emergency situations during patient care.
