Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial interviews and assessments that document each case accurately, from the first consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health using evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.

• Develop detailed and strategic treatment plans that cater to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to client preferences.
\n
• Monitor client progress diligently throughout the treatment process and adjust plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, including psychiatrists, physicians, and social workers, to enrich client care and interdisciplinary approaches.

• Maintain ongoing communication with external professionals regarding client admissions, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and follow-ups.

• Identify barriers to recovery and proactively work with clients and families to manage these challenges effectively.

• Provide education and support to family members and caregivers, equipping them with strategies to address mental and behavioral health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Union Family Counseling Center, you will work with a varied client demographic, including adults, adolescents, and families facing mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression to trauma and relationship challenges. A strong focus on understanding and respecting the cultural backgrounds of our clients is essential in creating an inclusive and effective therapeutic experience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is a prerequisite.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMFT, LCSW, or LCPC) in the state of Nevada.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is required.

• Demonstrated experience in providing mental health counseling, preferably in an outpatient setting.
\n
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms, for record-keeping and documentation.
\n
• Knowledge of mental health conditions, addiction issues, and the implications of various prescribed medications is highly valued.
\n
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with a compassionate and empathetic approach to client engagement.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with diverse populations and a thorough understanding of culturally sensitive practices.

• Background in trauma-informed care and addiction counseling is advantageous.

• Familiarity with the best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by other healthcare providers.
