Work Environment\n

This position operates in a hybrid setting, primarily from a remote office, but involving in-person sessions when required. Our Outpatient Office serves as a base for collaboration with our multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized therapy sessions, both remotely and in clients’ homes or our outpatient clinic, fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.

• Address various behavioral challenges through techniques such as anger management, coping strategies, and social skills enhancement, ensuring to actively mitigate high-risk behaviors like self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Mentor adolescents and their caregivers to improve decision-making abilities, thereby equipping them with skills necessary for managing challenging behaviors and fostering healthier family dynamics.
\n
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, participating in case discussions and strategy sessions aimed at holistic support for clients.
\n
• Complete and submit all required documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care.
\n
• Attend monthly team meetings to share insights, contribute to ongoing program development, and discuss client progress and challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents aged 3 to 20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). You will work closely with families who may be overwhelmed and seeking support, providing them with compassionate care tailored to their unique situations. Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish or Portuguese are particularly encouraged to apply, as this matches our community's diverse needs.

Qualifications\n

• A minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related mental health field is required.

• Active and unrestricted LMFT license to practice in Florida.

• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week, preferably during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with some flexibility on weekends.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for potential in-home visits.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

• Experience providing positive behavior support methodologies.

• Proven history of working with children and families, especially those navigating the challenges of developmental and intellectual disabilities.
