Work Environment\n

In this role, you will operate primarily from your home office, but you will be closely connected to the educational environment, working with school administrators, teachers, and other staff to provide integrated mental health care. Your schedule will generally be Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate the needs of students and their families. As a mental health therapist within the school, your contributions will have a direct impact on students' academic and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed assessments of students to evaluate their mental health needs and history.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that center on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and coping strategies tailored to each student.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support student recovery.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a supportive space for students to process their experiences and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

• Work collaboratively with educators and school staff to create a comprehensive support network for each student, ensuring that mental health care is integrated into their academic life.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention as needed, ensuring students receive timely and appropriate support during emergencies.

• Educate students and their families about trauma, coping strategies, and available community resources to empower them on their healing journey.

• Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with ethical standards and local regulations.

• Participate in regular case consultations and professional development activities focused on advancements in trauma-informed care.

• Stay informed about the latest research in trauma therapy and continuously refine practice methodologies to adapt to evolving needs.

This role will focus on children and adolescents within the school system who have experienced various forms of trauma. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Tennessee.

• Prior experience working specifically with trauma-related disorders is preferred.

• Strong familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities, as well as evidence-based therapy practices.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students and families from diverse backgrounds.

• Ability to remain calm and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations typical in school environments.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring seamless documentation of patient interactions.

• Team-oriented mindset, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary professionals.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on trauma therapy.
