Greater Lakes Behavioral Health is seeking licensed mental health therapists to fill full-time remote positions in Galveston, Texas. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the psychological, emotional, and social needs of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based therapeutic methods.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, to facilitate effective therapeutic interventions.
• Lead psychoeducational groups and support sessions that empower patients to discuss their experiences and learn coping strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, ensuring immediate assistance is rendered when needed.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers to create a cohesive treatment strategy for patients.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health challenges, treatment pathways, and community resources available to them.
• Ensure the maintenance of comprehensive, accurate, and confidential patient records in alignment with HIPAA and professional standards.
• Participate actively in professional development opportunities, including case consultations and continuing education, to stay informed about advancements in the mental health field.

You will work with a varied clientele, including individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse issues. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds and age groups, which makes understanding cultural sensitivities and employing tailored approaches essential for effective therapy. Building rapport and trust will be crucial for facilitating successful outcomes in your practice.

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
• In-depth understanding of mental health disorders, therapeutic techniques, and evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Experience conducting mental health evaluations and formulating treatment plans that yield measurable progress.
• Proven track record providing both individual and group therapy to a varied patient demographic.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine ability to connect with patients.
• Strong ethical judgement and the ability to maintain professional boundaries in therapeutic relationships.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and related digital tools for managing patient information.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• At least two years of experience in a mental health counseling role, preferably in a clinical or outpatient setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in conducting group therapy sessions and psychoeducational workshops.
• Experience with specific populations, such as adolescents or those dealing with substance use disorders, is a plus.
