Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that incorporate a comprehensive understanding of the unique psychological, social, and physical challenges faced by older adults.

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices, ensuring that they address cognitive changes, physical health issues, and social support systems.

• Implement therapeutic interventions for clients, offering individual and family therapy sessions that focus on various geriatric psychiatric conditions such as depression and anxiety.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including geriatric psychiatrists and allied health professionals, to deliver integrated care that enhances patient outcomes.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for elderly patients experiencing mental health emergencies.

• Educate clients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, coping strategies, and available community resources to empower them in their journey.

• Ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and maintains compliance with relevant legal and ethical standards, utilizing digital health record systems effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is to serve the elderly population. You will be working with clients who often present with complex mental health concerns related to aging, including depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment issues following significant life changes. Your role is critical in not only addressing their mental health needs but also enhancing their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) in the state of Pennsylvania.

• Strong knowledge of mental health conditions affecting the elderly, along with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to establish rapport and trust with elderly clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working in a mental health setting, particularly with geriatric clients.
