Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to prevent disability, relieve pain, and restore muscle function, always in accordance with physician directives.
• Providing oversight to Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure effective execution of therapy plans and patient care.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' functional levels through diagnostic assessments of muscle, nerve, and joint capabilities.
• Assessing the home and facility environments to recommend adaptations aimed at enhancing client independence.
• Administering manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises while also instructing and motivating clients during their functional activities.
• Utilizing physical agents, including traction and massage, effectively within treatment regimens.
• Evaluating, fitting, and modifying prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary, collaborating with physicians on recommendations.
• Documenting clinical progress through detailed initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engaging in regular case conferences as part of the interdisciplinary team to review and refine treatment strategies for optimal client outcomes.
• Maintaining timely and accurate clinical records and adhering to branch policies regarding documentation and billing.
• Instructing clients and their families on self-management techniques and the appropriate use of therapy assistive devices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with a diverse patient population requiring rehabilitation services for various orthopedic conditions. Your expertise will contribute significantly to improving the physical capabilities and overall quality of life for clients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. Your role is instrumental in guiding patients through their rehabilitation journeys, ensuring that they regain independence and achieve maximum potential.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, with preference given to candidates who have achieved a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT).
• A valid and active Physical Therapist license in New Jersey with no history of sanctions or disciplinary action.
• A profound understanding of various manual therapy techniques and a commitment to employing evidence-based practices.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, notably experience with Web PT or similar software for accurate documentation.
• Current knowledge of emerging physical therapy methodologies, supported by a strong foundation of clinical research.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in a rehabilitation facility or with a focus on orthopedic recovery is highly desirable. Familiarity with community resources and the ability to adapt treatment plans based on individual client needs will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Fluency in additional languages is a plus, as it allows for improved communication with our diverse patient base.
