Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand patients' histories and inform treatment paths.

• Craft and implement tailored treatment plans that prioritize patient-centered care and resilience-building strategies.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during both individual and group therapy sessions.

• Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions that allow patients to share experiences, develop coping mechanisms, and support one another in their recovery journeys.

• Coordinate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care that addresses all aspects of a patient's well-being.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support, guiding patients through trauma-related emergencies with skill and compassion.

• Educate patients and families on the effects of trauma, coping strategies, and available resources to enhance understanding and support recovery efforts.

• Maintain meticulous patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards while utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems for efficiency.

• Engage in continuous learning through workshops and conferences focused on trauma-informed care and interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Avella, you will primarily work with adults grappling with the psychological effects of trauma. Your role will involve guiding them through the complexities of trauma recovery, fostering a trusting therapeutic alliance that empowers them to reclaim their lives. Each patient's journey is unique, and your expertise will be pivotal as they learn to cope with and heal from their experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• Solid understanding of trauma-informed care practices and an array of trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, with a focus on empathy and support.

• Familiarity with EHR systems and the ability to adapt to technology-enhanced therapy environments.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, particularly in trauma-focused therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually.
