Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations that include reviewing patient histories, performing specific assessments, and documenting results to create tailored treatment plans.
• Communicate evaluation findings and treatment plans clearly to patients and their families, empowering them to participate actively in their recovery goals.
• Implement customized treatment protocols based on evaluation outcomes and patient presentations, while staying updated on best practices and innovations in the field.
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care when necessary.
• Recognize and document any changes in a patient's condition that may require adjustments to their care plans or referrals for further medical/rehabilitation consultations.
• Oversee effective discharge planning and provide follow-up care to enhance recovery after therapy sessions.
• Accurately document patient records in a timely manner, detailing initial evaluations, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and necessary discharge evaluations.
• Maintain effective time management and meet productivity standards while managing your schedule efficiently.
• Contribute to departmental goals by engaging in hospital and community-based marketing activities, furthering our commitment to accessibility and care.
• Actively participate in continuing education opportunities for professional development and competency enhancement.
• Serve as a clinical instructor for students, fostering the next generation of practitioners within our facility.
• Engage in initiatives aimed at improving patient access to care while participating in performance measurement activities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a wide-ranging patient population that includes post-operative recovery, sports injury rehabilitation, geriatric care, and individuals recovering from neurological disorders. Our goal is to provide personalized therapy tailored to each patient's unique needs, leveraging evidence-based practices to optimize their recovery.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current and valid state license for practicing physical therapy as required in Virginia.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association is required.
• A genuine desire to provide high-quality patient care in a challenging, yet rewarding environment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a clinical physical therapy setting is preferred.
