Work Environment\n

This role is offered in a remote format with the expectation of maintaining regular core business hours, while flexibility will be provided during peak periods. Although you will primarily work from home, you will engage regularly with on-campus teams and may occasionally be required to participate in in-person events or workshops at our state-of-the-art outpatient facility.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and mental health screenings to identify individual student needs and determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.

• Provide short-term one-on-one counseling sessions, utilizing crisis intervention techniques to effectively address various psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, and stress management.
\n
• Facilitate engaging therapy groups and workshops that focus on vital topics such as coping strategies, resilience building, and personal development tailored to the unique challenges faced by the student population.

• Work collaboratively with a network of campus partners, including academic staff and student organizations, to ensure holistic support for each student's academic journey.

• Promote mental health awareness through proactive outreach programs and participate in wellness events designed to reduce stigma and enhance student engagement.

• Maintain thorough and confidential client records in compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements, ensuring privacy and integrity in all documentation.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on the diverse student population within our educational environment. You will work with individuals from various backgrounds and experiences, addressing their unique mental health needs while promoting a campus culture that supports academic excellence and emotional well-being.

Qualifications\n

• Current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) , Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) , Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) , or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) .

• A master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is a fundamental requirement.
\n
• A comprehensive understanding of the mental health challenges specifically encountered by college students, including adjustment issues and peer dynamics.
\n
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are vital in establishing rapport with students and collaborating with a diverse faculty and staff.
\n
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and short-term therapy models that cater to the needs of a university counseling center.
\n
• Adept at multitasking and managing a varied case load in a fast-paced educational setting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working in a school or university counseling center or with adolescents and young adults.

• Background in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, or group facilitation is highly desirable.

• Proficient with telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems to streamline patient interactions and documentation processes.

• Experience collaborating with other mental health professionals and campus resources to create a community of care.
