Sunshine Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Counselor to join our growing team. In this full-time role, you will provide specialized mental health care to individuals who have been affected by trauma, working remotely to ensure accessibility and comfort for both you and your patients.

Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while still being an integral part of a collaborative team. Our clinic embraces flexibility and adapts to the diverse needs of our clients, which means your scheduling may require some adjustments based on patient requirements. The typical work schedule consists of Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Sunshine Counseling Center, you will:

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate the history and unique needs of each patient.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that are centered on trauma recovery and resilience-building techniques.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailored to each patient’s needs.

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma, build coping strategies, and promote holistic healing.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary professionals to ensure integrated and cohesive care for all patients.
\n
• Offer crisis intervention support during acute trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating quick and effective responses.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to support their healing journey.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
\n
• Engage in case consultations and participate in professional development activities that further enhance our trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay committed to ongoing learning by keeping abreast of the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be patients who have experienced varying degrees of trauma, including but not limited to, abuse, neglect, and severe stress. You will work closely with individuals facing issues related to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, providing them with tailored support and resources for healing.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT within the state of Texas.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling.
\n
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and a commitment to employing trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with clients compassionately and non-judgmentally.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of experience is required, candidates with extensive experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies, understanding trauma-informed care, and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams will be highly favored. Your ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations will also be an important asset.

Compensation and Benefits\n
