The Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will focus specifically on providing trauma-informed care to individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Work Environment\n

This position offers a unique remote working arrangement that allows for flexibility while ensuring you remain connected to our dedicated outpatient team. Your typical working hours will be Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional flexibility required to accommodate patient needs. As part of our collaborative approach, you will regularly participate in team meetings and case consultations via video conferencing tools.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, employing trauma-informed frameworks to assess patients' trauma histories and design appropriate interventions.

• Develop, implement, and refine individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience building, and coping strategies tailored to each patient's needs.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive, coordinated treatment for our patients.

• Provide crisis intervention, preparedness, and resources for patients facing trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, equipping them with tools for their healing journey.

• Ensure meticulous documentation that meets legal and ethical standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.

• Engage actively in professional development initiatives to stay abreast of current research and best practices in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

At the Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center, you will work primarily with trauma survivors from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing those within the LGBTQ+ community. Your understanding of the unique challenges faced by queer individuals in processing trauma will enhance your ability to provide relatable and effective therapeutic support.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctorate in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid state license as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or a licensed psychologist.
\n
• A solid understanding of trauma-related conditions, trauma-informed therapy techniques, and resilience-building modalities.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and a non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
\n
• A collaborative mindset that promotes effective teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• While not mandatory, a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience with a focus on trauma-informed care is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience utilizing evidence-based trauma therapy techniques is a strong advantage.

Compensation and Benefits\n
