Work Environment\n

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional evening hours required based on client scheduling. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health and substance use issues, recognizing co-occurring disorders that may impact their recovery journey.

• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions, equipping clients with essential coping mechanisms, strategies for relapse prevention, and skills for emotional regulation.

• Actively coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring seamless integration of services provided by psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

• Regularly monitor clients’ substance use and engage them through motivational interviewing techniques to inspire commitment to their recovery process.

• Educate clients and their families on the connections between mental health and substance use disorders to reinforce the importance of treatment adherence and holistic wellness.

• Maintain detailed and timely documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, complying with ethical and legal standards.

• Engage in ongoing skill enhancement through participation in team training sessions, staff meetings, and case discussions focused on co-occurring disorder treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will work primarily with individuals facing the dual challenges of mental health and substance use disorders. This client population often requires tailored, multifaceted treatment approaches that address both psychological and addiction-related issues simultaneously. The therapist will play a vital role in helping clients navigate their unique paths to recovery, cultivating resilience and promoting sustainable health changes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Washington State.

• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatments tailored to co-occurring disorders, including approaches such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A deep understanding of mental health and substance use disorder interaction, coupled with a commitment to continuous learning in best practices for treatment.

• Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

• At least 2 years of clinical experience providing therapy in mental health or substance use treatment settings.

Compensation and Benefits\n
