Work Environment

The Home Health Orthopedic Physical Therapist will work onsite, providing therapy services directly in clients' homes across Tampa. This environment allows for a personalized and flexible approach to rehabilitation, tailoring treatment plans to the unique needs of each individual. The role promotes interaction with clients in their familiar surroundings, facilitating a comforting and effective rehabilitation experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment to prevent disability, relieve pain, and restore muscle function in accordance with each client's individualized plan of care.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants to ensure high-quality implementation of treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities and environmental adaptations to enhance independence and rehabilitation outcomes.
• Administer various therapeutic exercises, including manual techniques, and motivate clients in non-manual exercises and daily activities.
• Implement modalities such as traction, massage, and other physical agents as part of the therapy regimen.
• Evaluate and recommend adjustments to prosthetic and orthotic devices to facilitate appropriate mobility.
• Document client progress meticulously, preparing clinical records including OASIS, care plans, and discharge summaries.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans and coordinate care.
• Educate clients and their families on the use and maintenance of physical therapy devices and overall therapy objectives.
• Provide timely administrative documentation and orders as per company policy.
• Conduct functional assessments and revise care plans involving community resources as needed, ensuring a comprehensive approach to client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus primarily on clients who require rehabilitation from orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical recovery and chronic pain management. Patients will vary in age and physical abilities, offering a rich variety of challenges that require your expertise and creativity in developing tailored treatment strategies.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Current and valid PT licensure in the state of Florida, in good standing.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• A passion for providing high-quality clinical care and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist in an acute care or home care setting.
• Proficient understanding of federal and state regulations governing physical therapy practices.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD $100,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
