Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations for clients, documenting their journey from the initial consultation through treatment completion.

• Assess the mental, emotional, and behavioral health of clients, developing tailored intervention and treatment plans that address their unique needs.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a supportive atmosphere where clients can explore their feelings and challenges.
\n
• Manage treatment progress by monitoring client responses and making adjustments to plans as required, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.

• Collaborate with fellow mental health specialists, medical doctors, and social workers to create integrated care plans, ensuring clients receive holistic support.
\n
• Perform follow-up tasks with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.

• Identify behaviors that may impede recovery, proactively addressing these issues through structured interventions.
\n
• Provide guidance to family members and primary caregivers on effectively managing and supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients come from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences, presenting a wide range of mental health concerns including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and family dynamics. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will have the rewarding responsibility of facilitating healing and growth for individuals, couples, and families, adapting your therapeutic approaches to meet their specific needs.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
\n
• A passing score on the NCE and/or the NCMHCE is required.
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, combined with the ability to build rapport with clients.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, with a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic modalities.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to maintain accurate client information and treatment documentation.

• Experience addressing additional physical health issues and addiction disorders within a therapeutic context.
\n
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
\n
• In-depth understanding of the pharmacological effects of medications prescribed by medical professionals.
