Work Environment\n

This position is entirely remote, allowing you to provide telehealth services to our clients from the comfort of your own home in Irving, Texas. Utilizing a state-of-the-art telehealth platform, you will conduct therapy sessions with elderly patients at a time that is convenient for them. Our working hours are primarily Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although some evening hours may be required based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the elderly, identifying their unique psychological needs and challenges.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that consider the cognitive, physical, and social factors affecting each patient.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, providing individual and family therapy aimed at addressing complex geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.

• Provide crisis intervention support for elderly patients and their families during moments of acute mental health emergency.

• Educate patients and families about mental health disorders, treatment alternatives, and community resources available to them.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.

• Actively participate in clinical meetings, case consultations, and professional development workshops to enhance your skills.

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in geriatric mental health and therapeutic best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, which encompasses individuals aged 65 and older. This demographic often experiences a variety of psychological conditions compounded by physical health challenges, social isolation, and significant life transitions. As a therapist, you will have the opportunity to build relationships with patients and their families, gaining a deep understanding of their experiences and providing the tailored support they need.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Valid and active licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Texas.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience preferred but not mandatory.
\n
• A solid foundation in geriatric mental health issues and the application of relevant treatment modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with an empathetic and patient-centered approach to care.

• Ability to establish effective rapport with elderly patients and their families.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth technology.
