Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, goals, and conditions.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound, to facilitate recovery.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, educating them on proper techniques and ensuring their understanding of the rationale behind each step in their treatment.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functionality to measure the effectiveness of treatment programs.
• Engage in collaborative discussions with the interdisciplinary team, sharing insights about patient progress and coordinating care strategies for integrated treatment.
• Prepare treatment areas and ensure that all equipment and supplies are organized and readily available, contributing to a smooth therapeutic environment.
• Provide emotional support and motivation to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, working to foster a positive mindset and encourage active participation in their recovery process.
• Adhere to all ethical and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and showing respect for the dignity and rights of patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will engage with a diverse patient population, ranging from adolescents to seniors, with varying needs including post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, chronic pain management, and neurological conditions. Your ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet the unique circumstances and challenges faced by each patient will be pivotal in enhancing their rehabilitation experience and outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York.
• 1+ years of work experience in a clinical setting, ideally within rehabilitation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to connect with patients and families.
• Proficiency in documenting patient evaluations and progress notes in accordance with best practices.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a rehabilitation facility focusing on a broad range of conditions is advantageous.
• Background in patient education and exercise prescription, particularly in a therapeutic context.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
