Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients with chronic pain to determine appropriate treatment regimens and adjust plans as necessary.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies, contributing to improved patient outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with case management teams for seamless discharge planning, ensuring patients receive comprehensive follow-up care that aligns with their recovery goals.
• Accept and manage referrals from other healthcare providers, utilizing clinical judgment to decide on consultation or hospitalization based on the patient's unique needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with insurance guidelines, effectively managing appeals for claim denials to support continuous patient care.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultations and on-call schedules to ensure accessible care for individuals experiencing pain-related challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily involves working with diverse patient populations who are managing chronic pain conditions. You will interact with adults experiencing various pain syndromes, including those related to injury, illness, or surgical procedures. Your role will focus on understanding each patient's individual situation and healthcare history to tailor approaches that support their well-being and quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of a valid and active Physician Assistant license in New York State.
• A minimum of three years of clinical experience in a relevant field, preferably with a focus on pain management.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, which are critical for effective patient interaction and thorough documentation.
• A strong work ethic and a commitment to functioning within a collaborative, team-based healthcare environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with pain management techniques and familiarity with both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment options specific to chronic pain conditions.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this full-time position ranges from $150,000 to $180,000 annually, reflecting the experience and capabilities of the selected candidate.
