Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite, requiring you to travel to our patients' homes in the Lakeland area. Our supportive environment values the importance of work-life balance and fosters a collaborative atmosphere that enhances professional growth. You will benefit from flexible scheduling, with hours typically falling between Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, allowing you to plan your personal commitments effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify the specific needs and goals of each patient regarding their physical capabilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address a variety of conditions, aiming to restore mobility and optimize overall functionality.
• Document all patient interactions accurately and efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as WebPT, ensuring compliance with health documentation standards.
• Provide one-on-one therapy sessions, managing a patient load that allows for in-depth care—approximately one patient per hour.
• Utilize cost-effective therapeutic techniques and non-surgical interventions to enhance patients' mobility while reducing reliance on medications.
• Create and promote customized fitness and wellness programs that encourage patient participation beyond therapy sessions, aiming for improved strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Collaborate actively with other healthcare professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care and improving overall health outcomes.
• Foster a motivating and encouraging environment, empowering patients to take an active role in their rehabilitation process.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate patient progress to adapt treatment plans as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will serve a diverse population, often dealing with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and age-related physical challenges. Your work will directly impact their quality of life, fostering independence and enhancing their overall physical health.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required; candidates with a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (MPT or DPT) are preferred.
• A valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida is essential.
• A clean professional record with no disciplinary actions or board complaints on your license.
• Proficient in manual therapy techniques, as well as designing and implementing tailored exercise programs.
• Experience with EMR software, particularly WebPT, is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in orthopedic outpatient settings is preferred, helping you understand the nuances of various patient demographics and conditions.
• Hands-on experience with home care therapy dynamics would be beneficial, enabling smoother transitions and better patient rapport.
• Knowledge of current rehabilitation trends and evidence-based practices will be an asset.
