Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Medical Group Center in Brookhaven, New York. Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health conditions, developing personalized treatment plans based on their specific needs.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to help clients explore their feelings and experiences.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to ensure that all aspects of a client's care are integrated and effective, leveraging diverse expertise for optimal outcomes.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, fostering understanding and support for the recovery process.
• Document all interactions and treatment plans meticulously, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards to maintain client confidentiality.
• Regularly review and adjust treatment plans to reflect client progress and changing needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve are individuals undergoing detoxification and others who may be struggling with co-occurring disorders. You will work compassionately with a diverse group of clients, each bringing their unique background, challenges, and experiences. Understanding and respecting this diversity is essential for building rapport and trust, which are crucial to successful therapy.

Qualifications

• A current, valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) .
• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field .
• Proven experience (at least 2 years ) providing mental health counseling or therapy.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices relevant to mental health disorders.
• Exceptional therapeutic and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and motivate clients.
• A commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality in all client interactions.

Preferred Experience

• Advanced degrees (Master's or Doctoral) in mental health fields.
• Experience working within detox or rehabilitation settings.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
• Training in trauma-informed care approaches.

• Compensation ranges from USD 60,000 to 104,000 annually , based on experience and qualifications.
