Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide direct mental health services, including comprehensive behavioral health assessments, tailored counseling sessions, and effective case management for Black birthing families.

• Engage collaboratively with members of the prenatal care team, including medical providers, midwives, doulas, and lactation experts, to deliver coordinated and holistic healthcare.
\n
• Lead and co-facilitate childbirth education classes and postpartum peer support groups, working closely with designated birth workers.
\n
• Document and maintain accurate records of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes while adhering to legal and ethical standards of practice.
\n
• Participate in training, supervision, and quality assurance processes to enhance service delivery and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on supporting Black birthing families, recognizing their distinct mental health challenges and cultural needs. You will play a vital role in fostering a safe space where clients can express their concerns and work toward personal growth and healing during significant life transitions.

Qualifications\n

\n
• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
\n
• Active licensure in California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with a multicultural, multidisciplinary team.
\n
• Strong organizational skills, effective time management, and the capacity to work independently and seek assistance when needed.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing mental health services within community settings, particularly with diverse populations and during the perinatal period.

• Familiarity with integrated behavioral health care models and team-based approaches to treatment.

• Knowledge of culturally relevant practices and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by Black birthing families.

Compensation and Benefits\n
