Work Environment

Your work setting will be an onsite Rehabilitation Center in Immokalee, providing you with a collaborative environment that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, and support staff. The center is equipped with the latest therapy technology and resources designed to facilitate comprehensive rehabilitation programs. You will work approximately 40 hours a week, with some flexibility for variable weekends, allowing you a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patients to develop effective treatment plans addressing their functional limitations and disabilities.
• Consult with healthcare team members about patients' continuum of care, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to health and rehabilitation.
• Provide ongoing assessment, education, and reassessment through comprehensive patient evaluations and treatment implementation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and billing codes, ensuring compliance with laws and professional standards.
• Engage in departmental management activities such as community outreach, quality improvement projects, and program development.
• Lead and supervise assigned support staff in delivering high-quality patient care while maximizing departmental resources.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and maintain open lines of communication regarding patient care and treatment modifications.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse population of patients with orthopedic, neurological, and geriatric conditions. Your ability to connect with patients from various backgrounds, and to assess their unique needs, will be crucial in customizing their rehabilitation experience. As you deliver care, you will incorporate patient and family involvement in treatment planning and discharge processes, enhancing patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
• A current and valid State License in Physical Therapy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with proficient word processing and computer skills.
• A commitment to continuous professional development through ongoing education and training programs.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of experience in physical therapy is required, candidates with additional experience in specialized areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or sports therapy will be highly regarded. Experience within a rehabilitation setting and knowledge of electronic health record systems will greatly enhance your candidacy.
