Work Environment

As part of an interdisciplinary team, Physical Therapists collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists, Medical Doctors, and support staff to create an integrated care experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement comprehensive physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and restoring muscle function in line with each patient's individual capabilities.
• Evaluate and assess patients' function levels utilizing diagnostic tests and assessments to formulate accurate treatment plans.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring they deliver services that align with the established plans of care.
• Regularly review and modify treatment plans based on patient progress and feedback, integrating environmental assessments that facilitate independence.
• Administer therapeutic interventions such as manual exercises, modality applications including traction and massage, and direct patient education on functional activities.
• Collaborate actively in interdisciplinary case conferences to assess and plan comprehensive treatment strategies involving input from various healthcare specialists.
• Document patient progress meticulously, maintaining accurate clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance and education to families and caregivers regarding therapy techniques and the use of rehabilitative devices.
• Participate in continuous professional development and training to remain current with advances in physical therapy practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work primarily with patients requiring rehabilitation from orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and post-surgical recovery. Qualifications

• Must possess an active Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida.
• Successful completion of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
• Demonstrated proficiency in various therapeutic modalities and techniques, with a robust understanding of exercise science.
• Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
• Competent in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) software for maintaining accurate documentation of patient progress and care delivery.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical physical therapy setting, particularly with outpatient rehabilitation.
• Experience with specialty populations or conditions such as sports injuries or postoperative care is advantageous.
• Proficient in developing and implementing exercise programs tailored to individual patient conditions and goals.
• Previous experience working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
