Key Responsibilities

• You will assess and treat patients experiencing pain, utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques and treatment modalities, such as medication management, physical therapy referrals, and interventional procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and case management teams to ensure effective discharge planning for patients transitioning from acute care to outpatient settings.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, contributing ideas and actively participating in projects that aim to enhance both cost-effectiveness and the quality of patient care.
• Act as a consulting provider, responding to referrals from other healthcare professionals, and managing the specific needs of hospitalized patients.
• Maintain meticulous documentation that adheres to insurance guidelines, and manage the appeals process for any denied claims, ensuring timely resolutions.
• Conduct both inpatient and outpatient consultations, and participate in the on-call rotation to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The majority of our patients are individuals suffering from chronic and acute pain conditions stemming from post-operative recovery, neurological disorders, arthritis, and other musculoskeletal issues. As a Physician Assistant, you will frequently interact with diverse patient backgrounds and age groups, tailoring your approach to meet the specific cultural and personal needs of each patient. Your role is crucial in empowering patients to manage their pain effectively while guiding them through personalized treatment pathways.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required.
• An active and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in New York state.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a multi-disciplinary healthcare setting focused on pain management or rehabilitation.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and the healthcare team.
• A strong work ethic and a commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with interventional pain management techniques and familiarity with rehabilitation practices is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of electronic health record systems and documentation best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to engage in continuous professional development, including attending relevant workshops, seminars, or conferences.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 150,000 to USD 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
