Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with pain complaints, including conducting thorough medical histories and physical examinations.
• Monitor vital signs and patient health status pre- and post-procedure, ensuring proper documentation of all patient interactions and treatment outcomes.
• Develop and implement effective pain management plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients regarding their treatment options, expected outcomes, and any necessary procedural information.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment, adhering to facility protocols and standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will work closely with a diverse patient population experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions. This includes but is not limited to post-surgical pain, arthritis, neuropathic pain, and complications from spinal disorders. The ideal candidate will exhibit a compassionate approach, prioritizing patient education and support while striving to empower individuals to manage their pain effectively.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program is required.
• An active Physician Assistant license in the state of New York.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on pain management strongly preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster teamwork and effective communication.
• Strong organizational abilities and a commitment to excellence in patient care, even in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems for accurate and efficient patient documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Previous outpatient experience within a pain management specialty is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of interventional pain management techniques and procedures will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with various pain management modalities, including, but not limited to, pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches.

Compensation and Benefits
