Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to better understand each student’s unique experiences and tailor treatment plans accordingly.

• Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans that focus on recovery from trauma and resilience-building strategies.

• Utilize various therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support recovery processes.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping students process their experiences, build coping strategies, and navigate their emotional responses.

• Collaborate effectively with educational and mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, to provide coordinated care tailored to the needs of each student.

• Respond to crisis situations involving students, providing immediate intervention and support as necessary.

• Educate students and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available mental health resources.

• Maintain systematic and confidential records in alignment with all legal and ethical regulations.

• Engage in ongoing professional development through team meetings, case consultations, and educational opportunities pertinent to trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client focus for this role involves students in school settings who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to those dealing with PTSD and complex trauma conditions. By operating within schools, the therapist will be directly accessible to students, fostering trusting relationships that can significantly improve mental health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• To be eligible, candidates must hold a current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCP, LCPC, or LCMFT in the state of Kansas.

• Proven experience of at least 2 years post-licensure offering trauma-informed care is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 104,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
