As a member of our outpatient team, the Licensed Mental Health Therapist will work in a remote setting, utilizing telehealth technology to provide services. Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform comprehensive mental health evaluations, including crisis intervention assessments and follow-up care.

• Determine appropriate treatment plans and coordinate patient disposition to ensure access to suitable mental health care services.

• Document all assessments and care plans accurately and in a timely manner, contributing to required statistical reports.

• Collaborate closely with correctional health services and other relevant professionals to facilitate access, housing, and treatment for patients.
\n
• Lead group therapy sessions focusing on coping strategies and skill-building in mental health observation units.
\n
• Participate in weekly clinical supervision sessions with the Clinical Supervisor to reflect on practice and receive guidance.
\n
• Engage in mental health and medical rounds as assigned to collaborate on patient care with interdisciplinary teams.
\n
• Provide case summaries and contribute to treatment planning during case conferences for patients receiving mental health services.
\n
• Carry out psychological testing as needed and supervise social work interns and student volunteers as assigned.
\n
• Perform any additional duties as directed by the Unit Chief or Clinical Supervisor.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily engages with a diverse population, consisting of individuals who may be dealing with behavioral health issues, substance use histories, and severe mental illness. As a therapist in a correctional health setting, you will work with clients currently incarcerated who are seeking mental health services, allowing you to have a profound impact on their recovery and rehabilitation process.

Qualifications\n

• A current, valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of five years of full-time, paid professional experience providing direct patient care in a behavioral health setting, with at least two of those years occurring post-licensing.

• Familiarity with case management processes within correctional settings or similar environments.
