Qualifications & Experience Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience creating and implementing IEPs for middle school students Strong classroom management skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with fellow teachers, staff, and parents Previous work in resource or co-taught settings preferred, but not required Familiarity with differentiated instruction and accommodations Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction and adapt lessons for a resource or co-taught classroom of up to 15 students Develop, review, and update individualized education plans (IEPs) Monitor student progress, collect data, and report outcomes to parents and staff Collaborate with general education teachers and, when available, teaching assistants or paraprofessionals Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development sessions as needed This position not only offers the chance to positively impact students’ lives but also provides a dynamic, supportive school environment.
