Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatments focused on preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and restoring muscle function while ensuring compliance with established care plans.
• Supervise and guide physical therapy assistants during the implementation of treatment protocols to ensure effective patient care.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' physical capabilities, utilizing diagnostic methods to assess muscle, nerve, and joint function.
• Assess the home environment when necessary to support rehabilitation, recommending modifications to improve client independence.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, both manual and non-manual, and provide education to clients and family members regarding home exercise programs.
• Implement various therapy techniques including traction and massage, employing physical agents to maximize treatment effectiveness.
• Fit and adjust orthotic and prosthetic devices, collaborating with physicians to recommend necessary modifications.
• Participate in ongoing care plan development, maintaining updated clinical records and documentation for compliance and quality assurance.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to optimize integrated patient care strategies.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards in practice.
• Stay accessible to provide guidance and oversight during the treatment sessions conducted by assistants.
• Contribute to case conferences and treatment evaluations, facilitating communication among healthcare providers.
• Address additional responsibilities as assigned to fulfill the overarching objectives of the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
