Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Vital Spark Therapies, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting Assessments: Perform thorough evaluations of clients presenting with mood disorders, gathering comprehensive information on their mental health histories, current symptoms, and contextual psychosocial factors.
• Formulating Diagnoses: Utilize the DSM-5 and other diagnostic manuals to create accurate and relevant diagnoses for clients experiencing mood disorders.
• Developing Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to formulate customized treatment strategies based on assessment data, ensuring that plans are evidence-based and aligned with each client's unique objectives.
• Providing Psychotherapy: Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, utilizing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other methodologies aimed at mood disorders.
• Collaborating on Medication Management: Work closely with our supervising psychiatrist to coordinate care for clients who may require medication alongside psychotherapy, providing insights on treatment effectiveness and adherence.
• Crisis Intervention: Act swiftly to provide crisis intervention services for clients in crisis situations, utilizing best practices to ensure their safety and mental well-being.
