Work Environment

This role will primarily be onsite in various home care settings throughout Fredericksburg, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Directing physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, enhancing muscle function, and maximizing each client's performance in accordance with their individualized treatment plans.
• Overseeing and supporting the implementation of treatment plans by supervising Physical Therapy Assistants and ensuring adherence to prescribed therapy protocols.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of a client's physical condition through diagnostic tests related to muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
• Assessing home environments to identify potential barriers to rehabilitation and making recommendations to foster client independence.
• Delivering physical therapy services within clients' homes as prescribed by medical professionals.
• Administering manual therapeutic exercises and guiding clients through non-manual exercises and functional activities, ensuring they are motivated and engaged.
• Implementing various physical agents treatments, including traction and massage, to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
• Evaluating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices while recommending modifications to physicians as necessary.
• Documenting clinical records meticulously, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and developing care plans.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans and contribute to holistic client care.
• Training and instructing clients and their families on the effective use of physical therapy equipment and providing guidance on their ongoing therapy programs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, managing chronic conditions, experiencing rehabilitation needs, and those seeking to improve their overall mobility. The focus will be on creating highly personalized care strategies that align with each client's unique goals and challenges, fostering significant improvements in their quality of life.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

We prefer candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience supervising Physical Therapy Assistants and collaborating within an interdisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
