Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Facility located in The Villages, Florida, a vibrant community known for its active lifestyle and supportive atmosphere. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients recovering from injuries, illnesses, or surgical procedures in an outpatient rehabilitation setting to inform treatment plans.
• Develop and implement comprehensive, individualized treatment plans utilizing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques including manual therapy, exercise programs, and assistive devices to promote patient recovery and enhance mobility.
• Utilize EMR software, particularly Web PT, to maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and outcomes in compliance with facility guidelines.
• Regularly evaluate patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes, addressing any emerging challenges during therapy sessions.
• Mentor and provide guidance to new graduates in their clinical practice, contributing to their professional development and integration into our team.
• Coordinate and lead training sessions for patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members on the use of therapeutic equipment and techniques to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Stay current with advancements in physical therapy practices, participating in workshops and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and seniors with a wide range of diagnoses. Common conditions you will address include orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain, and mobility impairments. Your expertise and empathy will be essential in helping patients enhance their quality of life and regain independence in their daily activities.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Active Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida, with a clean record free from sanctions or board proceedings.
• Strong competency in manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise prescription.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in electronic medical records, especially Web PT, for accurate reporting and documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a rehabilitation facility or outpatient setting, with a focus on direct patient care.
• Background in treating a broad range of diagnoses, which enhances understanding of complex therapeutic needs.
• Familiarity with current trends and best practices in physical therapy, supported by continuing education and training.
