Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health, trauma history, and specific treatment needs.

• Create and implement detailed, individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique path to recovery, ensuring a focus on resilience and coping strategies.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in sessions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients process their experiences, share insights, and strengthen their healing journeys.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to provide holistic care and ensure seamless treatment integration.

• Deliver crisis intervention services to clients facing trauma-related emergencies, providing timely support and stabilization.

• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, helping them navigate challenges and utilize community resources.

• Maintain meticulous, confidential records of therapy sessions and patient progress, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselors at Turning Leaf primarily serve individuals who have experienced trauma, including survivors of abuse, veterans with PTSD, and those coping with complex emotional disturbances. The goal of our counseling approach is to create a trusting therapeutic relationship that fosters healing, resilience, and empowerment for clients from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is mandatory.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Texas is required for this role.

• A minimum of two years of experience in mental health counseling, preferably with a focus on trauma-informed care.

• Proficient knowledge of trauma-related disorders and experienced in applying trauma-focused therapeutic modalities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a non-judgmental approach that respects client diversity.
