Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations by performing preliminary interviews and thorough assessments during initial consultations.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that reflect each client's unique mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, adapting therapeutic techniques to engage clients effectively and promote active participation.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other mental health specialists to ensure coordinated care for clients, particularly those with complex needs.

• Follow up with clients who require hospitalization, providing continuity of care through collaboration with hospital staff and maintaining open lines of communication.

• Educate and support family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges, fostering a holistic support system for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Journey Recovery, you will work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, and families experiencing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Your expertise will guide them through their challenges, fostering resilience and promoting sustainable recovery. Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity is essential in addressing the unique needs of our client population.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Texas.

• Successful completion of the National Counseling Exam (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience in clinical mental health counseling, preferably in a community health setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.

• Experience working with clients facing co-occurring disorders and understanding the impact of related physical health issues.

• Familiarity with clinical best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Strong clinical insight into psychotropic medications and their effects on mental health treatment.
\n
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster effective client and team interactions.
