Key Responsibilities\n

The mental health therapist will perform a range of essential duties, including:

• Conducting thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand each patient's unique trauma history and develop suitable treatment strategies.

• Creating and implementing personalized treatment plans aimed at fostering trauma recovery and resilience in our patients.

• Administering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions, assisting patients in processing their traumas and developing effective coping mechanisms.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and comprehensive care for our patients.

• Offering crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies and challenges as they arise.

• Educating patients and their families about the effects of trauma and available resources for recovery.

• Maintaining accurate and confidential records in adherence to legal and ethical guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily involves working with adult and adolescent survivors of trauma, many of whom are dealing with PTSD and related mental health conditions. Our clients often present with complex emotional and psychological challenges, making it crucial for the mental health therapist to possess a solid understanding of trauma-informed approaches and to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity in their interactions.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• At least two years of post-licensure experience, focusing on trauma-related therapies.

Compensation and Benefits\n
