Work Environment\n

As a Mental Health Therapist working within a telehealth setting, you will enjoy the flexibility of remote work while being part of a collaborative and supportive team. Our virtual environment allows you to connect with clients from the comfort of your home while eliminating geographical barriers to care. You will engage with a variety of specialized tools and platforms for teletherapy, ensuring a seamless experience for both you and your clients. We operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed assessments to understand clients’ unique trauma histories and craft tailored treatment plans that meet their specific needs.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions including, but not limited to, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate client healing.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for clients to share their experiences, develop coping strategies, and foster resilience.
\n
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and case managers, to coordinate care and provide holistic support to clients.
\n
• Respond to crisis situations with professionalism and provide immediate support and resources to clients in distress.
\n
• Educate clients and their families on the impact of trauma, effective coping mechanisms, and available community resources.
\n
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in accordance with both legal and ethical guidelines, using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
\n
• Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in team meetings and case consultations to stay informed about best practices in trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will center on working with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including but not limited to those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will play a critical role in their recovery journey, employing a compassionate, individualized approach that fosters healing and empowerment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• Demonstrated proficiency in trauma-informed care methodologies is essential, with a strong understanding of trauma-related disorders.

• Excellent interpersonal skills are crucial, providing a foundation for a non-judgmental and empathetic therapeutic relationship.

• A commitment to remaining calm and composed in high-stress situations is vital for effective crisis management.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications is necessary for efficient documentation and client management.

• A collaborative mindset is essential for working alongside a diverse team of professionals.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience working in mental health settings is preferred, particularly in trauma therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n
