Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' physical conditions and pain levels related to orthopedic issues, using standardized tests and measures.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments, outlining specific goals and objectives tailored to each patient's needs.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, including manual therapy techniques aimed at relieving pain and enhancing functional mobility.
• Oversee and guide Physical Therapy Assistants in the execution of treatment plans, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
• Utilize various modalities, including heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation, to facilitate the healing process.
• Evaluate the home environment of patients, making recommendations that promote greater independence and safety during rehabilitation.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during case conferences to establish comprehensive treatment strategies and monitor patient progress.
• Keep meticulous clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to legal and organizational standards.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment protocols, expected outcomes, and home exercises to encourage active participation in therapy.
• Continuously assess the effectiveness of treatment plans and make necessary adjustments to optimize rehabilitation outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary patient population includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting mobility and function. You will work closely with patients from varied backgrounds, all requiring specialized and compassionate care tailored to their specific rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program with a Bachelor's Degree.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist in an acute care or home care setting.
• Valid physical therapy licensure in the state of Virginia, with the status of being in good standing.
• Certification in CPR.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Strong clinical reasoning combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, specifically with post-operative patients.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 yearly, commensurate with experience.
