Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments using standardized tools to evaluate symptoms of mood disorders, including but not limited to depression and anxiety. This includes developing risk assessments and treatment recommendations based on clinical findings.

• Engage in collaborative treatment planning, working closely with clients to tailor their treatment journey in accordance with their specific goals, preferences, and needs.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), aimed at alleviating symptoms and fostering resilience in clients.

• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders and effective treatment strategies, equipping them with the knowledge to understand their condition and engage actively in their recovery.

• Track and monitor clients' progress, regularly modifying treatment plans as necessary and maintaining consistent communication with clients about their journey.

• Communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, ensuring the integration of medication management and therapy.

• Stay current with advancements in treatment methodologies and participate in training opportunities that enhance clinical skills specific to mood disorders.

• Document client sessions, treatment progress, and assessment outcomes accurately, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in case consultations and team meetings to discuss treatment progress and share valuable insights into best practices for mood disorder management.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on patients grappling with mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. You will provide therapeutic support in a compassionate environment tailored to individuals from varied cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, ensuring that each client feels validated and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State is required.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience, with a focus on mood disorders preferred.

• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment approaches, particularly CBT and DBT.

• A solid understanding of psychopharmacology, facilitating effective teamwork with psychiatrists in treatment planning.

• Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to forge strong therapeutic alliances with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Two or more years of specialization in treating mood disorders and a successful track record of achieving positive outcomes.

• Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting, utilizing electronic health record systems to maintain confidential client data.
