Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations alongside law enforcement on the scene to identify individuals who may require involuntary detention under sections 5150 and 5585.

• Document and maintain detailed, confidential records of patient interactions and treatment plans to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
\n
• Provide immediate, short-term crisis counseling for non-violent clients experiencing mental health episodes, establishing a supportive environment to aid in their stabilization.
\n
• Collaborate closely with police officers during mental health interventions, offering guidance on managing crises effectively and minimizing the need for force.
\n
• Engage with local hospitals, mental health facilities, and psychiatric professionals to coordinate care and locate open beds at homeless shelters for clients in crisis.
\n
• Lead training sessions for law enforcement personnel focused on mental health awareness and de-escalation techniques to enhance community safety.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client focus for this role includes individuals experiencing severe mental health crises, such as those encountering homelessness and individuals who have been arrested. You will play a critical role in connecting these individuals to appropriate mental health resources, supporting their recovery and empowerment.

Qualifications\n

• Valid License as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) is required.

• Exceptional prioritization and multitasking abilities to manage rapid-response scenarios effectively.
