Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique needs and challenges faced by children and adolescents.

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, ensuring they are tailored to accommodate each patient’s developmental stage and family context.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address various mental health disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions, equipping parents and caregivers with tools to foster a supportive and stable environment at home.

• Work collaboratively with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure holistic, integrated treatment for all patients.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and risk assessments as needed.

• Educate patients and families about mental health issues, available resources, and the importance of stigma-free conversations around mental health.
\n
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards in mental health practice.

• Engage in professional development through ongoing education and training opportunities to stay current with best practices in pediatric mental health care.

• Participate in clinical supervision, case discussions, and professional development activities to enhance efficacy in areas of expertise.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily serves children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and behavioral issues. The therapist will provide care within a culturally aware framework, acknowledging the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our young patients and their families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist in California.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred.
\n
• Strong knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders, therapeutic techniques, and evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Experience in providing individual and family therapy, emphasizing the needs of young clients.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a child-centered, empathetic approach to therapy.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient documentation and record-keeping.

• Capacity to work as part of a dynamic clinical team and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary professionals.

Compensation and Benefits\n
