Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate mental health needs, including interviews and psychological evaluations, to develop individualized treatment plans catered to each client’s unique circumstances.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to promote client well-being. Utilize modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness strategies to engage clients in their healing processes.

• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and practice policies, ensuring all documentation reflects client progress and treatment outcomes.

• Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary treatment team, including educators, school psychologists, and family members, to provide holistic care that addresses the needs of the whole child.

• Educate and support patients and families by providing resources and coping strategies. Facilitate family therapy sessions and workshops that empower families to understand mental health issues affecting their children.

• Stay informed about current research and developments in the field of mental health to provide the highest quality care and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on children and adolescents within school settings, addressing issues such as learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and emotional disturbances. By creating a safe space for students, you will help them build resilience and coping mechanisms necessary for navigating their daily lives.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.

• A valid Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license in the state of Massachusetts is mandatory.

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience providing mental health care is preferred, ideally in pediatric or school-based settings.

• Proficiency in solution-based psychotherapy interventions, with a focus on evidence-based practices.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and their families.

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities that enhance client engagement and treatment efficacy.

• The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and contribute positively to team goals.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within a school system, particularly in an outpatient mental health capacity, is highly valued.
