Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide mental health counseling and crisis intervention to individuals in distress, especially arrestees and community members experiencing mental health crises.
\n
• Accompany law enforcement personnel during critical mental health responses, ensuring immediate support and effective de-escalation strategies.
\n
• Assist in training police staff on best practices for addressing mental health episodes, focusing on techniques to de-escalate situations and minimize the use of force.
\n
• Conduct field psychiatric evaluations to assess individuals for the necessity of 5150/5585 involuntary detention applications.
\n
• Deliver short-term crisis counseling to non-violent clients experiencing acute mental health episodes while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of patient records.
\n
• Collaborate with law enforcement, crisis stabilization units, hospital staff, and psychiatrists to ensure coordinated care and resource accessibility.
\n
• Develop and implement personalized action plans for clients, including facilitating transportation to mental health facilities and securing accommodations in homeless shelters when necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will serve a diverse client population, including individuals experiencing severe mental health crises and those needing ongoing support. Your role will be crucial in aiding community members as they navigate their recovery journeys, ensuring they receive the care and resources they need. The position is also focused on triaging acute cases effectively while fostering a supportive environment for all clients.

Qualifications\n

• Must possess a valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license in California.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field is required.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in high-pressure situations.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
