Work Environment

This position is specifically designed for onsite home care, allowing you to provide therapy sessions in diverse settings across Charlottesville, VA. You will interact directly with patients in their homes, which requires adaptability and strong interpersonal skills to create a comfortable environment that fosters recovery. The typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering a structured yet flexible work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patient needs and establish targeted therapy goals.
• Maintain a manageable patient load of one patient per hour, ensuring focused and personalized attention.
• Employ a variety of treatment techniques, such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and functional training to help patients improve their motion and mobility.
• Develop individualized care plans that integrate evidence-based practices tailored to each patient's specific rehabilitation needs.
• Encourage patients through motivational support as they work towards their recovery milestones.
• Adapt treatment approaches and utilize creative problem-solving to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Foster strong communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, ensuring continuity of care.
• Document all services provided and monitor treatment effects to adjust plans as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions affecting movement. As a Physical Therapist, you will help these patients overcome physical challenges, restoring functionality and improving their quality of life through customized rehabilitation strategies.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Active Physical Therapist license in Virginia.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in orthopedic outpatient care, demonstrating proven competency in the field.
• Strong manual therapy skills and an ability to deliver effective exercise programs.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, such as WebPT, for efficient documentation and patient management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• No board actions or disciplinary actions against the license.
• A solid foundation in exercise physiology and biomechanics relevant to orthopedics.
• Previous experience with home care settings is a plus but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits
