Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for virtual interactions with patients through a telehealth platform. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients’ psychological history and identify optimal treatment strategies.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at facilitating trauma recovery and strengthening resilience.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), during sessions.
• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions designed to assist patients in processing their trauma, enhancing coping mechanisms, and fostering healing.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to provide comprehensive, integrated care for clients.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support services during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and stability.
• Educate patients and their families about the impact of trauma, coping strategies, and community resources.
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing training focused on trauma-informed care principles.
• Stay informed about the latest research, best practices, and therapeutic modalities related to trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve patients grappling with the effects of trauma, including those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our clinic prioritizes a trauma-informed approach, recognizing the impact of trauma on mental health and the necessity of personalized care plans. You will support a diverse clientele, navigating the complex emotional and psychological landscape of recovery while ensuring a non-judgmental and empathetic therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
• Expertise in delivering trauma-focused therapies and effective interventions.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
• Ability to manage and approach high-stress situations with composure.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and related software applications.
• A collaborative spirit, essential for working within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working in mental health counseling is preferred.
• Experience with evidence-based trauma recovery modalities and interventions will be highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits

Family Matters Health Care Clinic offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
